Venison Steaks with a Chilli Plum Sauce

Ingredients

  • Silver Fern Farms venison steaks pack - 1
  • Oil - 2 Tbsp
  • Grated ginger - 1 tsp
  • Cloves garlic, crushed - 2
  • Hoisin sauce - 2 Tbsp
  • Chilli sauce - 1 tsp
  • Kikkoman soy sauce - 100 ml
  • Sesame oil - 1 Tbsp
  • Plum sauce - 100 ml

Method

  1. Bring a frying pan to a high heat. Drizzle venison steaks with oil and season with salt and pepper. Cook for three minutes each side until medium-rare. Remove from the heat, cover with tin foil and rest for 5 minutes.

  2. While the meat is resting, combine all the chilli plum sauce ingredients together and simmer in the same pan until thick & saucy. Drizzle over the meat. Serve with seasonal potatoes and a fresh green salad.
