Ingredients

  • 2 red apples, cores removed
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 red apples, cores removed
  • 1 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 2 sheets puff pastry
  • 3 teaspoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted

Method

  1. Step 1 of 8
Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Line the base of 6 muffin tins with baking paper.
  2. Step 2 of 8
Halve and slice the apples thinly and place them onto a plate. Brush with lemon juice, cover them and place into the microwave for 1-2 minutes to soften. Remove and cool.
  3. Step 3 of 8
Combine the cinnamon and sugar in a small bowl.
  4. Step 4 of 8
Place the pastry onto a lightly-floured bench. Cut each piece into thirds.
  5. Step 5 of 8
Brush the pastry with butter and sprinkle over half the cinnamon and sugar. On one half lie the sliced apples slightly over the edge, then fold the other half over. Brush again with butter and sprinkle sugar. Carefully roll from one end, like a scroll, keeping the apple poking out to create the rose.
  6. Step 6 of 8
Place each one into the muffin tins. Brush again and sprinkle over any extra sugar.
  7. Step 7 of 8
Bake for 20 minutes until puffed and golden.
  8. Step 8 of 8
    Remove and serve warm.
