Beef & Black Bean Burgers

Ingredients

  • 390 grams canned black beans, drained
  • 400 grams beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons mixed herbs
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chutney
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper

Slaw

  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vinaigrette
  • 390 grams canned black beans, drained
  • 400 grams beef mince
  • 1 egg
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 2 teaspoons mixed herbs
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons chutney
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt and pepper

Slaw

  • 2 cups cabbage, shredded
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 2 tablespoons vinaigrette

Method

  1. Step 1 of 5
    Into a large bowl, place the black beans and mash roughly with a fork.
  2. Step 2 of 5
    Add the mince, egg, garlic, herbs, salt and pepper, mixing well. Roll into four even balls and flatten into patties. Refrigerate until ready to cook.
  3. Step 3 of 5
    For the slaw, in a bowl, combine the cabbage, carrot and dressing, mixing well.
  4. Step 4 of 5
    Heat a little oil in a frying pan. Add the burger patties, two at a time, cooking for 5 minutes on each side or until just cooked through. Keep warm while you cook the remaining.
  5. Step 5 of 5
    Place a burger patty on the base of a burger bun with mayonnaise, top with slaw and a spread of mayonnaise and chutney, and place the top of the burger bun.
