Black Forest Chocolate Truffles

This dessert recipe is super simple and also simply delicious! Using a classic chocolate mudcake as the base, these Black Forest Chocolate Truffles are sure to be a favourite with friends, family and whānau.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 chocolate mud cake
  • 2 tablespoons cream cheese, soft
  • 200 grams glacé cherries
  • 200 grams white chocolate melts
  • 2 tablespoons chocolate sprinkles

Method

  1. Step 1 of 4
    Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  2. Step 2 of 4
    Crumble the cake into a bowl. Add cream cheese and stir well to combine until the mix holds together, adding more if necessary.
  3. Step 3 of 4
    Roll into walnut-sized balls. Press a cherry into the centre of each and re-roll to cover. Place onto the prepared tray and freeze for 30 minutes.
  4. Step 4 of 4
    Melt the chocolate melts in a small bowl. Dip each ball into the chocolate to coat, allowing excess to drip off. Decorate with sprinkles and place back onto the tray to set.
