Cheesy Courgette Gratin

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup thickened cream
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 400 grams brushed potatoes, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 4 courgettes, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 1 small brown onion, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 150 grams gruyere cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup thickened cream
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • 1 clove garlic, crushed
  • 400 grams brushed potatoes, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 4 courgettes, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 1 small brown onion, cut into 3 mm-thick slices
  • 150 grams gruyere cheese, finely grated
  • 1/2 cup milk

Method

  1. Step 1 of 4
    Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced). Lightly grease a 22cm (4cm deep) round baking dish.
  2. Step 2 of 4
    Place cream, milk, and nutmeg in a small saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer, then remove from heat immediately. Stir in garlic, then set aside.
  3. Step 3 of 4
    Layer one-third of the potato, courgette, and onion, slightly overlapping, in the dish. Pour over one-third of the cream mixture and sprinkle with one-third of the cheese. Continue layering, finishing with cheese.
  4. Step 4 of 4
    Bake for 45 minutes or until the top is golden and the potato is tender. Stand for 10 minutes. Season with pepper and serve.
