Easter Hot Cross Buns Pudding

This twist on a traditional bread and butter pudding using hot cross buns is a must on the table for Easter. Our Easter Hot Cross Bun Pudding recipe is a delicious dessert that the entire family will tuck in to.

Ingredients

  • 6 hot cross buns
  • 300 mL cream
  • 1 pinch cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons liquid honey
  • 2 teaspoons icing sugar
  • 1 kilograms plain yoghurt
  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 50 grams butter

Method

  1. Step 1 of 4
    Preheat the oven to 175°C (155°C fan-forced). Cut each bun into three even slices and butter. Arrange slices in a large ovenproof dish.
  2. Step 2 of 4
    Whisk eggs, cream, sugar, and spice, then pour over the buns. Allow to rest and soak up the cream for at least 20 minutes.
  3. Step 3 of 4
    Drizzle over honey and cover loosely with foil. Bake for 20 minutes, then remove the foil and cook for a further 20 minutes or until golden and the custard has set in the centre.

    Dust with icing sugar and serve with yoghurt.
