Kiwifruit & Pear Crumble

Ingredients

  • 6 golden kiwifruits, peeled and cubed
  • 390 grams canned pears
  • 1 teaspoons fresh ginger, grated
  • 2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoons ground cinnamon
  • 1 cup oats
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 80 grams butter, melted
  • 1 cup lightly whipped cream or yoghurt
  • 6 golden kiwifruits, peeled and cubed

Method

  1. Step 1 of 6
    Preheat the oven to 170°C (150°C fan-forced).
  2. Step 2 of 6
    Into a large bowl, place the kiwifruits. Drain the pears reserving ½ cup liquid. Dice the pears and add to the kiwifruit with the liquid. Add the fresh ginger and lemon zest tossing them all together.
  3. Step 3 of 6
    Pour the fruit mixture into an oven-proof dish.
  4. Step 4 of 6
    To make the crumble topping, mix the flour, cinnamon, oats, brown sugar and melted butter together in a bowl. Evenly spread the mixture over the fruits.
  5. Step 5 of 6
    Bake in the middle of the oven for 25 minutes until crispy and golden on top.
  6. Step 6 of 6
    Serve warm with a good dollop of cream or yoghurt.
