Lasagne
Homemade lasagne is a classic dish for feeding a crowd. The cheesy sauce made from scratch is pure comfort. A sprinkling of cheese on top becomes bubbling, golden perfection.
Ingredients
- 425 grams canned Italian-style tomatoes
- 1 cup peas
- 2 tablespoons chopped parsley
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 cup grated cheese
- 400 grams dried lasagne, cooked and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 500 grams beef mince
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoons plain flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 pinches salt
- 2 pinches pepper

- 400 grams dried lasagne, cooked and drained
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 500 grams beef mince
- 1 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoons plain flour
- 1 cup milk
- 2 pinches salt
- 2 pinches pepper
- Step 1 of 10Heat oil over low heat in a frying pan.
- Step 2 of 10Add onion and garlic for 5 minutes until soft, but not coloured.
- Step 3 of 10Add mince and cook until the mince changes colour.
- Step 4 of 10Add tinned tomatoes, peas, salt and pepper and parsley.
- Step 5 of 10Simmer for 5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Step 6 of 10Preheat oven for 170oC fan bake.
- Step 7 of 10Melt the butter in a small pot, add flour and stir for 2 minutes. Slowly add milk and cook until the sauce is thickened. Add three quarters of the cheese.
- Step 8 of 10Place a quarter of the mince into a greased 25x15cm baking dish.
- Step 9 of 10Cover with a layer of lasagne, mince, then cheese sauce. Repeat this ending with cheese sauce and then add the remainder of the grated cheese.
- Step 10 of 10Bake for 40 minutes until brown.
