Mince Pasties
Our recipe for Mince Pasties is just that – easy! The delicious snack of flaky pastry and rich filling is also perfect for lunch, dinner or afternoon tea!
Ingredients
- 8 pieces sundried tomatoes, sliced
- 2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
- 1/2 cup frozen peas
- 600 grams Premium Beef Mince
- 2 onions, finely chopped
- 4 rashers rindless bacon, diced
- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted
- 3 cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 6 sheets ready rolled flaky pastry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 1 egg, beaten

- 1/2 cup Kalamata olives, pitted

- 6 sheets ready rolled flaky pastry
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 pinch salt and pepper
- 1 egg, beaten
- Step 1 of 7Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C fan-forced)
- Step 2 of 7In a medium frypan, heat the oil over moderate heat and add the onions, garlic, bacon and mince. Fry for about 5 minutes until the onions are soft and the meat cooked through. Remove from the heat and cool.
- Step 3 of 7In a large bowl, add all the remaining ingredients, except the pastry and egg, and add the mince mixture . Mix well to combine, and season to taste. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions.
- Step 4 of 7Cut a 22 cm diameter disc out of each sheet of pastry.
- Step 5 of 7To make one pasty; brush the edge of a pastry disc with egg, form a portion of the filling into a sausage shape, put it into the middle of the disc and bring the edges up together and crimp closed.
- Step 6 of 7Repeat for the other 5. Brush the pasties with egg and place on a baking tray. Bake for 25-30 minutes until well cooked.
- Step 7 of 7Serve with tomato salsa or sauce, and salad.
