Sage Stuffing

Ever had stuffing that makes everyone go "wow"? Our Sage Stuffing is it. Buttery onions, sage, and crispy breadcrumbs come together in this perfect mix. Ideal with any roast — or even on its own!
Recipe Tip For something a little different, try serving your stuffing rolled into balls, loose in a bowl or shaped in a log.

Ingredients

  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 cups breadcrumbs
  • 1 tablespoons chopped parsley
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh sage
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper

Method

  1. Step 1 of 4
    Preheat oven to 180°C (or 160°C fan-forced).
  2. Step 2 of 4
    To prepare the stuffing, heat the butter in a small frypan over a medium heat. Add the onion and garlic to the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes until the onion is soft.
  3. Step 3 of 4
    Transfer to a large bowl with the breadcrumbs, sage, egg, salt and pepper. Mix well.
  4. Step 4 of 4
    Roll mixture into balls and cook in the oven for 15 minutes. Transfer to a bowl and garnish with parsley.
