Slow Cooked Pulled Pork
Slow Cooked Pulled Pork is a budget-friendly recipe that makes for a hearty meal – perfect for winter days and nights. This slow-cooked dish will transform your pork shoulder into juicy, tender pulled pork for use in a variety of dishes.
Ingredients
- 2 kilograms pork shoulder bone-in
- 2 lemons
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 stalks rosemary
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 teaspoons salt

- Step 1 of 5Preheat the oven to 150°C (130°C fan-forced).
- Step 2 of 5Place the pork in a deep oven dish you can cover.
- Step 3 of 5Zest the lemons and cut them in half. Add them to the dish with the chopped onion, garlic, and rosemary, then sprinkle over the salt.
- Step 4 of 5Pour 1 cup of water around the outside. Cover and place in the oven for 2 hours. Check that there is still enough liquid and continue cooking for 45 minutes or until two forks will pull the meat apart easily. If not, cook for a bit longer.
- Step 5 of 5If you have skin on the pork, remove it at the end of the cooking and place it on a hot grill until crispy.
