Thyme & Vanilla Poached Pear
Thyme & Vanilla Poached Pear is a fresh twist on a classic dessert recipe. Stuffed with chocolate and drizzled with honey, this poached pear is one sweet as dessert that makes the most of seasonal fruit.
Ingredients
- 4 medium-sized pears, peeled
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1 lemon
- 3 stalks thyme
- 100 grams dark chocolate
- 1 tablespoons runny honey
- 1/2 cup sugar

- Step 1 of 5Place the pears into a large pot and cover them with water. Add sugar, vanilla, 3 peels from the lemon, lemon juice and thyme.
- Step 2 of 5Bring them to a simmer for 15-20 minutes until a skewer will insert easily.
- Step 3 of 5Remove with a slotted spoon from the pot.
- Step 4 of 5Preheat the oven to 180°C (160°C fan-forced).
- Step 5 of 5When cool enough to handle slice the pears in half lengthways. Using a spoon scoop out the centre. Place them into an oven-proof baking dish. Place one or two pieces of chocolate in the middle of each. Drizzle with the honey and bake for 10 minutes.
